How do I book a trip?

How do I get to my destination?

Accepted Answer

Flights depend on which charter region you book. We help coordinate harbour transfers once your trip is confirmed.

Komodo: Fly to Komodo Airport (LBJ) in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara — usually via Bali (DPS). Our team meets you at the airport on embarkation day.

Alor / Banda / Raja Ampat: Itineraries in this region may start or end at Sorong (SOQ), Ambon (AMQ), or Alor (ARD), depending on the route. Connections often run through Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), or Makassar (UPG). We confirm the exact airport and meeting point when you book.

Allow extra time for domestic connections — international and domestic flights at Jakarta or Bali may use different terminals.

Connecting domestic Flights

Please be advised that not all international and domestic flights via Jakarta (CGK) or Denpasar, Bali (DPS) arrive or depart from the same terminal building. If you are traveling via one of these cities, we advise booking your international round-trip tickets via them for comfort in connecting domestic flights.

Booking domestic Flights

The member of our marketing staff who is assisting you with your travel arrangements can help you purchasing domestic flights. As timetables are subject to change, please confirm the most recent schedule with the operator of your choice before making travel arrangements. Any airline cancellations, delays, or itinerary modifications are not the responsibility of PT Golden Oceanic Explorer or the agents they recommend.

What amount of luggage is permitted on domestic flights?

The majority of airlines permit 10–20 kilos per passenger to be checked and 7 kg to be carried on. There is a fee for extra weight per kilo. Allowance maximum: 20–30 kilos. For accurate information, speak with your travel agent or airline (if making a direct reservation).

We can recommend local hotels in Sorong, Labuan Bajo, Ambon, and Alor where we can pick you up and drop you off on trip departure and arrival day.

What wetsuit that you need?

Accepted Answer

Most people can get by with a 3mm shorty in warm, tropical seas (26–28°C), but if you're the kind that gets chilly easily, you might want to pack a full wetsuit (3mm or more) and hood.

Which valves and tank that you provide onboard?

Accepted Answer

DIN inserts and INT valves are both present in our tanks. There's no need to pack an adapter. If you would like a 15-liter tank, we may provide one upon request; availability and rental costs apply.

What to bring?

Passport, log books, dive cards, reef safe sunscreen, personal medications, hats, sunglasses, books, memory sticks/SD cards, camera chargers, personal drinks (terms and conditions applied), and cash for any extra personal needs and tips for the crews. Towels and linens are provided.

Checklist for diving gears

BCD, regulator, fin/booties, mask, snorkel, wetsuit, dive computer, torch with batteries, SMB, hood, reef hook. If not, we can rent out equipment; just let us know which items and sizes (if any) you'll need ahead of time, as all equipment is based on availability. During any diving activity, guests must use dive computers; if you don't have one, you can rent one onboard.

Are the trips suitable for snorkelers?

Absolutely! The best diving sites are also often the best snorkel sites. All snorkel excursions are briefed beforehand, just like the dives are, and are guided by an experienced snorkel guide who knows the area and marine life well.

Do I need diving insurance and travel insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We strongly encourage you to obtain appropriate dive and trip insurance due to our isolated location. Rapid evacuations by helicopter or speedboat are expensive, and the local medical services will want payment in advance or evidence of insurance. Additionally, we strictly require all our clients to obtain comprehensive travel insurance to protect themselves against unexpected flight delays and even missed connections. It is your duty to verify that your insurance policy covers every scenario by going over the specifics (including exclusions). Please be advised that in the event of an accident when the diver has gone beyond the limitations of their training (or policy) or is judged to have disregarded safe diving procedures or the guidance of their dive guide, most insurance policies will not pay for damages.

Do I need a visa to Indonesia?

Citizens of 169 countries are granted 30-day visa-free access to Indonesia by the government. You must have proof of further or return travel in the form of a ticket, and your passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of your arrival in Indonesia. If not, your entry will be refused. We recommend purchasing a VOA (Visa on Arrival) if you want to stay longer than 30 days. What is included in the diving package?

The diving package includes all meals, beverages (soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea), diving activities with certified guides, tanks, weights and belts, snorkeling equipment, harbour transfers, local guide, port clearance fees, cruise insurance, and Wi-Fi. Rates differ by destination — see Pricing for Komodo and Alor / Banda / Raja Ampat packages.

Seven Angels Phinisi can accommodate up to 14 guests in 7 elegant cabins. We have 1 Master Room, 2 VIP cabins, 2 Standard twin-bed cabins, and 2 bunk-bed cabins.

What is the best time to visit Komodo?

Accepted Answer

The best time to visit Komodo is during the dry season from April to December. The weather is generally sunny and calm, perfect for diving, snorkeling, and trekking.

What is the best time to visit Alor, Banda, or Raja Ampat?

These eastern Indonesian routes are typically best from October through April, when seas are calmer and underwater visibility is excellent. Contact us when booking — our team will advise the best travel window for your itinerary.

Do I need diving certification?

For certified divers, please bring your certification card. For beginners, we offer discover scuba diving experiences with our professional instructors. All necessary equipment is available for rent.

What plug types are available onboard?

We have EU plugs onboard 220v in each cabin, lounge, dining area, dive deck, and camera station.

What if I have dietary requirements?

Most special dietary requirements, whether allergy or simply personal preference, can be catered for. However, in some destinations, certain products are not readily available and can be difficult to source. Please inform us of your requirements as far in advance as possible to ensure there are plenty of dishes to suit your needs. Please note: We will try our best to meet your needs but cannot guarantee the availability of all requirements in destination. You are welcome to bring specific products with you, where permitted by local regulations, if the lack thereof may affect your well-being or holiday.

How much is the tip for the crews?

The Seven Angels Phinisi team consists of Deck Department, Machine Department, Service Department and Dive Department. Tipping recommendation is 5%–10% per guest from the total invoice of the trip. You are welcome to tip less or more than the recommended amount based on your satisfaction toward our service. So that the ship team remains unified, it is not recommended to give individual tips.
